The third friendly in three weeks to start the year for the US and they remained unbeaten during that stretch.

This AstroTurf doesn’t look great.

53’
What an opener for Dmitri Radchenko.

86’
Claudio Reyna takes the lay-off in stride before playing the ball out wide to Mike Lapper.

The fullback lofts the ball to the back post where Alexi Lalas and his flowing red hair meets to ball and heads into the ground and past Stanislav Cherchesov.

On this day in 2006, Twellman's hat-trick

🇺🇸 #USMNT 5-0 🇳🇴 Norway
📍 Carson

📋 Friendly

Probably Taylor Twellman’s (@TaylorTwellman) favorite day in a USA kit. A hat-trick for the American!

5’
What a cross from Clint Dempsey leads to a touch and shot for Twellman. (1/5)

17’
A quick second goal from Twellman in a very familiar manner.

With Landon Donovan and Todd Dunivant over the set-piece, Dunivant curls in the left-footed cross.

Twellman rose highest to meet it before finding the back of the net. (2/5)

67’
After a half-cleared corner, Dunivant is the quickest to react and after some patience in the box, the defender fires the ball across the goal.

Eddie Pope readied himself on the six-yard box and redirects toward the goal for the Americans’ third.

76’
This starts with a nice settle from Pat Noonan. He collects himself and lifts a cross to the back post.

Twellman is there again to nod home for the goal and the ninth USMNT hat-trick in its history. (4/5)

87’
Nate Jaqua starts the move centrally before finding Ben Olsen down the left.

Olsen returns it to Jaqua for the initial shot. The ball is kicked back to captain Donovan, who unselfishly lays it into Chris Klein for the roofed finish.
