Player Profile: Freddy Adu

Born on June 2, 1989, in Tema, 🇬🇭, Adu was drafted first overall in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, heading to DC United. He was traded to Real Salt Lake before bouncing around clubs all over the world, with stints in 🇫🇷, 🇵🇹, 🇹🇷 and 🇫🇮, among others.

He produced at a high clip at various levels in the USYNT. He made 17 caps for the USMNT, scoring twice. Here is his first on Nov 19, 2008 in a World Cup qualifier against 🇬🇹.
