Born on April 20, 1985, in Phoenix, AZ, the defender played 15 professional seasons, mostly in the #MLS with the Seattle Sounders.

He made 27 caps for the USMNT from 2009-2017. He scored one senior goal, which was a late winner in a 2014 World Cup Q against 🇯🇲 on June 7, 2013.
