Timothy Weah signed a five-year contract at Lille in πŸ‡«πŸ‡· for €10 million, which is currently the fourth-largest fee paid for an πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ. He was signed from Ligue 1 rivals Paris St. Germain, who loaned him out to Scottish club Celtic in January of that year.

He scored four goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for Celtic. He would eventually return to Lille for the 2019-2020 season, but Weah has been out most of the season with a right leg injury. Weah has had eight USMNT appearances in his career, scoring once.

"For me, (Lille) is the best choice to progress and get playing time. It's a young and ambitious team," Weah said. "Joining LOSC is a big deal, this team had a great season last year, finishing second is a great performance, playing in the Champions League is also a dream that I will be able to achieve. I want to score goals in my new colors and help this club to win games and trophies.” (Reuters)
